We have plenty of ways to volunteer. Whether you like to work directly with the youth or behind the scenes, there are many ways to lend a hand. We have opportunities for both individuals, or small groups.
Career Prep/Exploration : Share with our middle school youth about your career pathway and how you turned your interests and skills into a career. You can help our youth connect the dots between their current passions and a future job.
Time commitment: 1-2 hours, one-time opportunity
Skill-Sharing : Are you a whiz at Excel? A genius at financial literacy? We are looking for individuals to share their expertise with our youth through a presentation or workshop!
Time commitment: 3-4 hours including your planning time, can be repeated with different skills
Local Business Tours : All students love a field trip. We’d like to get a “behind-the-scenes” look at how your place of work functions. This experience will expose students to new ideas about the workplace and their future careers.
Time commitment: 2-3 hours, one-time opportunity
Girls Expo: Join us in the spring of 2022 for the Girls Expo! This event is about empowering girls to explore the career opportunities available to them. You can help by sharing your career path while encouraging the girls to discover career fields they may not know about.
Time commitment: Full day, one-time opportunity
Academic Excellence Tutor/Mentor: This portion of our program aims to support youth in increasing school attendance and improving grades. You’ll be paired with one to a small group of youth to help them with their homework and then mentor him/her during various activities throughout the day. Youth “earn” points for completed homework, participating in an educational activity and by participating in our reading program.

Volunteers plan and lead all the activities while we provide supplies and support. Some example ideas: drill team, chess club, drama group, art workshop, special clinic, etc.

Floating Volunteer: Not really sure how you’d like to help out, or just want to serve where the need is greatest? Come be our extra pair of hands! We often need people who can help with snack preparation, act as a coach or simply spend some time with the kids. Why not join us?
